The 72nd Special Feature of Electrochemistry
Research Frontiers of Photoelectrochemical Energy Conversion and Photocatalysis

Electrochemistry Editorial Board
Photoelectrochemistry Research Group
The Electrochemical Society of Japan

To realize a sustainable society, significant efforts have been concentrated on constructing systems that efficiently convert solar energy into electrical or chemical energy. Moreover, numerous novel materials for solar cells, photocatalysts, plasmonic structures, luminescent materials, and more have been developed, some of which exhibit efficiencies and activities superior to conventional standards.  With these advancements, the number of publications related to photoelectrochemical systems and materials has been rapidly increasing.

This special issue invites the submission of the latest research findings across a wide range of photoelectrochemical fields. We welcome papers on a broad range of topics, from fundamental research such as photoelectric conversion, luminescence, plasmon electrochemistry, and artificial photosynthesis, to applied research including solar cells, photocatalysts, solar hydrogen production, CO2 reduction, and display devices.
