Notice of Disciplinary Action Against a Society Member
It has recently come to the attention of the Electrochemical Society of Japan (hereafter referred to as the Society) that a manuscript submitted by one of its members to the Society’s journal Electrochemistry constituted a violation of the journal’s submission guidelines, specifically through acts of self-plagiarism. Such conduct—self-plagiarism and other violations of submission regulations—is strictly prohibited in the academic community and contravenes the Society’s Ethical Policy, specifically the Declaration of Strict and Sincere Execution of Research and Development.
Following an investigation by the Inquiry Committee, the Board of Directors has resolved to impose disciplinary measures upon the member concerned. The Board of Directors has also determined that announcing this disciplinary action on the Society’s official website is necessary to demonstrate our unequivocal stance against such misconduct and to prevent recurrence.
We hereby remind all members that they are expected to uphold the highest standards of academic integrity and to conduct all activities within the framework of the Society in strict adherence to ethical principles.
